For Folkestone's annual Pride Festival, we came up with a visual identity that followed a playful, underwater theme.
Concept / Visual identity / Design
Proud as folk.
Through Pride Festival, Folkestone Pride Community Group – an LGBTQIA+ led organisation – aim to promote equality and diversity through protest and celebration
Folkestone is no Brighton, Whitby or Falmouth - and that’s no bad thing. This small coastal town has the largest urban outdoor collection of contemporary art in the UK. So, we created a visual identity to reflect its deep creative waters and celebrate its LGBTQIA+ community.
Freedom and fluidity.
The identity system literally and visually represented water but also was symbolic of the evolving LGBTQIA+ community. Contemporary typography and a wider colour palette, looked toward a brighter, inclusive future. From impactful outdoor posters and banners, to fun tees and a bright festival program, we celebrated all things big, bold and wavy.
